Life is all about choices and variety. Having been through the experiences of making espresso and latte, I became even more picky about the coffee I would drink at coffee shops. As a safety measure, I would opt for tea based drinks. One of them was the London Fog. It tasted very good!
Curious, I looked up recipes online to try to replicate what I had at the shop, and on the first try it tasted halfway decent. This is the recipe I’m sharing today.
To make it doesn’t require any fancy equipment. The tea bag, syrup or sugar, and milk will come together to form the drink. Feel free to substitute the tea bag for whole leaf. I was just using what I had found at my local grocery store.
Ingredients:
- Earl Grey Tea
- Syrup or Sugar
- Milk or Milk Alternative
Recipe
- Add ~50 mL of hot water to the Earl Grey Tea. Let it steep for 3-5 minutes.
- Steam 180 mL of milk if a hot drink is desired. Otherwise iced is also fine. If there is no steamer, microwaving milk is sufficient too.
- Remove teabag, add the tea concentrate to a cup.
- Add 1 tablespoon of syrup (or more to taste)
- Add 180 mL of steamed milk.
The Results
After adding the milk to the tea concentrate with syrup, it becomes a very nice comforting drink. It is something simpler to fall back on to break away from the chocolate tasting latte drinks. Please try and see how it tastes!
